Activity

The Foundation supports scientific research on social democracy. We also aim to advance social democratic thinking through publishing research papers and books, arranging international conferences, workshops, seminars and consultations, and elaborating, discussing and introducing the programs of the Hungarian Socialist Party. We help develop the educational infrastructure of the party coaching trainers, creating and publishing up-to-date training material, as well as forming and maintaining international relations. We offer political, administrative and language training to gifted young people, members of local governments and the administration. We also aim to inspire citizens to participate in shaping politics, and to raise the social acceptance of social democracy through popular informative publications, conferences, courses and other activity. In 2004, we established the Mihály Táncsics Lifetime Achievement Award and we grant it annually to prominent contemporary artists whose work greatly contributes to Hungarian culture. We established and run a community website to promote the communication of stakeholders and citizens.
